9 Months

While we were in Idaho this past weekend, my baby turned 9 months old! What an interesting age this is. It is the funnest yet, and the hardest all at the same time. She is crawling EVERYWHERE!!! She has mastered going up the stairs, but she wants to DIVE down them, so I have to watch her at all times. She has learned how to crawl up on the fireplace hearth now which worries me. She pulls herself up very well onto things and walks around. She eats ALL THE TIME!!!! I feel like my day is spent feeding her and giving her snacks. We have had some interesting things happen in the past month. She discovered eating dog poop! Really disgusting! She stood up in the tub, squatted, and pooped quite a bit....GROSS!!! She got her 1st tooth just yesterday.....Very exciting but she has bit both James and I already....That tiny thing sure does hurt!
Things that are difficult......she HATES having her diaper changed. I don't get it, she was great for a while and once she learned how to crawl, you can't keep her on her backside now matter how hard you try.....it is safe to say that I dread diaper changes.....especially when they are poopy! She hates bibs!!! So weird, but she gets mad when I put it on her and she just rips it off. Her sleeping has been quite stinky lately, I think I am going to break down and buy the book Baby Wise to figure a better schedule out. She is becoming a mama's girl, she wants me to hold her all the time right now, makes it very hard for me to get anything done.
Things that are adorable.....She says mama now and I LOVE it!!!! She is a crazy sleeper. We find her in the weirdest positions, this girl should be a gymnast, she is SO flexible. When we put her in a shopping cart, she puts one leg out to the side and puts her arm over the back.....it is SO cute when you see it. She looks like a guy in a convertible trying to show off for a girl. She gives the biggest kisses and we LOVE getting them from her....even if some of them are a bit slobbery. There is nothing greater than seeing that big gummy smile first thing when she wakes up. She has now found her favorite stuffed animal and it is so cute to watch her cuddle with it..... I could probably go on forever with what I love about her. We are just so grateful for her and the smiles that she puts on our faces day after day.
Here is Brookies in the morning crawling around at aunt Steffy's.
Brooklyn and Daddy playing with Maggie, aunt Steffy's bird....(she LOVED playing with Maggie.)

I got the GRAND idea to give Brooklyn a teething biscuit while we went shopping at Costco.... I did not realize what I got myself into! She was an absolute MESS!!! People would walk by and laugh and have to stop and talk to her. James was totally embarrased at how messy she was that he made me push the cart. I just couldn't stop laughing, I thought it was funny and so cute how much she loved having that biscuit. (you can't tell from the picture really, but it was ALL OVER her clothes, skirt, blanket, and the cart. We had to do some major scrubbing.)

More Memorial Weekend

Brooklyn found a chunk of ice from the ice blocks we got to slide down the hill with and went to town on it.
Greg popping, massaging, tickling my dad. Steffy trying to get out of the way and was unsuccessful.

Tyson with Brooklyn. Those boys love that little girl.

Memorial Weekend

For Memorial Weekend, we went up to Idaho to spend some time with my sister and her family. It was a way fun weekend, we actually planned some things to do instead of sitting around the house saying "what do you want to do, I don't know, what do you want to do".

We got there Friday night and hung out. On Saturday, Steffany, Brooklyn and I went and visited my childhood friend Candace. It was so fun to go and see her farm house that she has remodeled. It is so cute! And I finally got to meet her kids. The rest of the fam decided to go out for Mexican food with out us :( Stinkers! On Sunday, we went on a hike out by Heise. It was a really pretty hike and the rain decided it wanted to come along with us. Luckily it never rained really hard and was on and off. After the hike, we went over to Heise (natural springs pool area and park) and we just made some hogi sandwiches and had lunch. Afterwards, the boys played hacky sack while the girls watched. On Monday, we got some $5 pizzas at Little Caesars and went ice blocking. I had never been ice blocking before and I had fun doing it. We didn't get any pictures of us doing it, but just a little clip of Greg starting us out.

Brooklyn's First Haircut!

I am sure many of you have noticed that Brooklyn has some funky hair! The poor girl had some funky comb over, but that all changed yesterday! Aunt Steffany was in town for Uncle Greg's graduation celebration and we decided to give Brooklyn a haircut. It looks SO much better! I woke up this morning so excited that her hair looks normal now! She had this patch on the back that was so long but would swing over to the side, making it look exactly like a bald mans comb over. Thanks Aunt Steffy for making her a Very pretty girl now :)

Stewart Falls Hike

This last Saturday, me, James, Brooklyn, James' best friend Dan and his kids Brigham and Olivia went and hiked up to Stewart Falls. James and Dan had big backpack carriers to carry Brooklyn and Olivia in.
Here is proof that I was there and hiked with them.
We hiked up a bit higher to the middle of the falls and James was surprised that I agreed to do it with Brooklyn but it wasn't that bad.

Here is Brookies in her carrier while we were eating lunch. She loved the hike and laughed the whole time. She is so much like her daddy, she loves to be outside and involved in everything. Such a fun baby!

Brookie's Smiles

She was so cute that I had to take a picture of her in this little outfit and headband that she actually left on for pretty much the whole day.

My parent's went to Scotland a couple of years and bought this hat with red "hair" attached to it for Doug as kind of a joke gift. James put it on her and we laughed so hard, she thought it was pretty funny herself.

Our little "cool dude" baby. I love how she smiles for the camera now.

Random Pictures

We put Brooklyn in a box and pushed her around one day, she seemed to enjoy it!
While my grandma was here this past weekend, she asked if she could feed Brooklyn. Brooklyn got a kick out of that because she had a grin on her face the whole time! It was her first time eating homemade applesauce and she loved it.
Brooklyn actually kept these on long enough for me to take a picture and then some. So cute!

The Tulip Festival

On Friday Afternoon, we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point with my mom, my grandparents (who were in town from Idaho) and my great aunt and uncle from Provo. The flowers were very pretty and it was nice to walk around. It was very crowded! We weren't expecting alot of people because in the past, there hasn't been alot of people when we have gone.

I gave Brooklyn a sucker with the wrapper left on it and when I tried to take it away from her, she started screaming so I had to take pictures with her sucking on it.
I love the picture below and her cute smile. I guess I should have been a bit smarter when leaving the house, eveyone kept calling her a boy all day because she was in Blue! She had on her pink onesie, pink socks, and pink blanket, but it didn't seem to work. I decided that she isn't going to wear this little sweat suit out in public anymore. I wish she would keep her headbands on, that would help keep people straight on the fact that she is a GIRL!!!! My great uncle that came with us has Alzheimers and he kept asking me if she was a boy or girl.....It was kind of funny that he asked me probably 4 times since he couldn't remember ever having the conversation. He even asked me if her name was Donna.
