Brooklyn eating a strawberry

We have these cool little mesh feeders that you put food in so that babies can suck on them and get the flavor, but not get big chunks of food that can be a choking hazzard. I put a strawberry in it and she didn't care for it much. She thought it was sour so her face is really funny in this video.

Snow Bunny (or Bear)

I took this photo with my phone. This is right after she got off the snowmobile when we were heading home. She really does so good with riding on the snowmobiles, she must be her daddy's girl.

Snowmobiling

This past weekend we went up to our cabin with my parents. They came up so that they could watch Brooklyn while I went out on the snowmobiles with James. Saturday afternoon we decided to go out and I only had about an hour until I had to be back to feed Brooklyn. My favorite thing to do in the winter is go sledding so that is what I wanted to do when we got up the mountain. We got up to the spot we were going to go sledding and while I was getting my helmet and everything off, James decided to go do some riding really quick, well with my luck, he totally got his machine stuck on a hill behind a tree! He had to come and grab my machine to go and find someone to help him get it out. Luckily he was able to find a guy that came and helped him get it out. By the time we got it out, it was time for me to be back at the cabin to feed Brooklyn so we didn't have time to go sledding! I was so bummed and when I got back to the cabin, she was asleep and didn't wake up until about a half hour or longer after I got back.

Our friend Jared came up to go out with him and I told them that I wanted to go out with them but needed to feed Brooklyn first. I told them to go out for a bit and then come back and I would go out with them. Well, my husband didn't understand what a bit was because he was gone for over 2 hours and by the time they got back, Jared had to go and the sun was starting to go down and I don't like riding when the sun is going down (it makes it hard to tell how level the snow is.) So, here winter is almost over and I still haven't been able to go sledding, the one and only thing I have wanted to do. Later that night my back started killing me, the bumps that you go over did a toll to my back, it was probably a good thing I didn't go back out.

We didn't get any pictures since we were digging James out the whole time I was up there.

6 Months old today!

I can't believe my baby is 6 months old today! She is growing up so much. She is rolling around like crazy (I have been meaning to get her on camera and haven't done that yet), she is eating solid food, we've tried: avacados, bananas, avacados with bananas, sweet potatoes, and organic brown rice cereal (all homemade of course). We have found that she doesn't care for avocados much but she will kind of eat them, she really doesn't like bananas, she seems to like sweet potatoes pretty well and brown rice we just tried today for the first time and she really seemed to like that.
Here she just finished her first try of organic brown rice cereal and you can't tell very well from the picture, but it was all over her face.
Here she is up at the cabin in the high chair. I really need to get one for her here at the house, she sits so good in it.
This sling I carry her in when she won't let me lay her down, it is so nice to have.
I have some other cute pictures of her that are on my phone, I don't know how to get them off of my phone so I will have to send them to James and he will have to do it from his phone. They will get posted when I can get that done.
P.S. Today is my brother Greg's Birthday! Happy Birthday Greggy!

Explain Facebook to me.

I have been invited by a couple of people to join Facebook, and my mom the other day was asking me what Facebook was because she has had some friends invite her to it also. She wanted me to explain it to her and I don't even know. I have heard that it is like MySpace which I hear is quite sketchy. I have heard that quite often through myspace or facebook, people end up leaving their spouses for other people they have met through this, so I guess you could say that I don't trust it necessarily but I know alot of people are on it and many of you. Can someone please explain it to me and is it sketchy or unsafe to be on it?

HAPPY DAY!!!!!

I am seriously so excited, I just found the box that had all of my "skinny" jeans, pants, and skirts in it. The ones that the second I was pregnant I no longer fit into, and I fit into every pair! It really was like Christmas opening up that box. I forgot how many cute skirts I had, and the jeans :). I am so glad to have a pair of black slacks again. I had shorts and capris in there and now I really have the itch for Spring and Summer to come. The only problem is now I don't know where to put them all :) The thing that is wierd, I thought I would have a hard time getting back into all of these bottoms, but instead of the bottoms being the problem, the tops are them problem. You would think in the bust buts it's not, my shoulders got wider which is making it really hard for me to wear my jackets from before. I have alot (20 or more) of really nice jackets that I would wear with skirts for church or just to top any outfit off with, and hardly any of them fit me in the shoulders. So Bizarre!!! But I am happy to have all of these bottoms fit me, and I can tell you that my husband will be too (he won't have to buy me more bottoms).

Avacados

So I gave Brooklyn her first solid meal yesterday. I mashed up some avacado with some breast milk. I took some video of it to document it, I ran out of memory card space so that is why there are two videos. Also, because I was feeding her and running the camera, the camera is kind of all over the place.

What a BIG girl....

My sweet baby is now sleeping in her own room! A few weeks ago, Brooklyn would wake up at around 2:00 am every night and stay up talking until about 4:30 and keep us up that whole time. She would never cry, she just wanted to talk. After talking to my Visiting Teaching companion and one of the ladies we Visit Teach, I decided to move her into the other bedroom here in the basement. I have the monitor, so if I wake up in the night, I can turn it on and see if she is awake or not. She has been in there now for about 6 nights and it has been a bit hard for me to sleep through the night and not check up on her, but last night I slept pretty much all night and woke up in a panic that I hadn't checked on her, turned on the monitor at 5:55 and she was in there crying pretty good. I felt bad but I know it needs to be done. James wasn't able to get very good sleep when she was in our room so now that she is out of our room, he is able to get the sleep that he needs for work the next day.
She is also starting to sit up on her own. She normally just does it for about 10 seconds or so before she falls over side ways, but while I was taking these pictures of her, she sat by herself for probably a minute or two. We are also going to be starting her on solid foods today, so we will have to post to let you know how that goes.

Here she is falling over as she was sitting up.
Here she is sitting up all by herself.
My brother Doug put my beanie on her and it was so cute. She reminds me of a Russian Soldier.
