10 Months

I hate to start off this way but I have to...... My sweet little baby isn't so sweet anymore!!! :( Don't get me wrong, I love her to pieces and she is full of personality, but she used to be as close to a perfect child as you could get and she's NOT so much anymore!

We moved into our house out in Eagle Mountain a week and a half ago. I knew it would be difficult for her to adjust and there would be a hard period with her, but I can tell now that she is just simply a more difficult baby despite the move. She used to be the BEST shopper! We loved taking her shopping....Now, Not so much. She cries, she wants out of the cart, she gets bored and loves to yell in the store so that she can hear her voice. She is more clingy and cries when I leave her sight. She HATES when you eat anything in front her and will SCREAM until you share it with her. She is into EVERYTHING!!!! Moving has been so difficult for me since I get things out of boxes and put them away, then she comes and grabs everything I just put away and throws it on the floor....then I have to put it away again....she pulls it down....See a pattern here, I don't get much done. The closet was the worst to unpack, half of the stuff was within her reach and she loved pulling all of the shoes off of the racks, my clothes off of the hangers, daddy's socks that are in a box on a bottom shelf (we are going without a dresser this time around). And the mother of all mother difficult issues....DIAPER CHANGES!!! Can I just say that I HATE diaper changes!!! If you've never seen a grown woman (or man) wrestling with a baby, come watch our diaper changes. This child is strong and REFUSES to sit still for even a second to have her diaper changed. I seriously want to cry when she has a stinky diaper and James isn't here to help me pin her down. The first day or two we were here in our house, she got away and crawled up onto a toy of hers and peed on the carpet! I don't know if a changing table would help or not..... she loves to DIVE off of high things, our bed, the stairs, the furniture.... we have to watch her like a hawk. It has been really hard for me to be excited about having another baby when Brooklyn has been so difficult lately. Maybe she seems more difficult to me because I am sick, pregnant, moving, and just simply exhausted.

Something that she does that is really cute though, every time we give her something to drink or eat that she likes, she gives us the "AAHH" sound (the one that you make after having a swig of a refreshing beverage) and she does it every time.... that is our indicator that she likes it and she wants more. We don't understand how she is so skinny.... she is such a PIG. She eats all the time.... of course I am eating alot with being pregnant and she ALWAYS wants what I am eating and will throw a fit until I share it, but I really would think that she would have some fat on those bones with all that she eats. She is so long and skinny, it is wierd to think that she was such a chunk as a "baby".

She is in a big girl crib now!! I am very excited about that. While at my mom's house, she was in a pack n play, and now she sleeps in a normal crib and I think she loves it! I know I do...it is SO much easier for me to get her out. I don't have to bend over and lift her out anymore. She has a stuffed dog and cat that she sleeps with every night that she LOVES. Something that I am not sure how I am going to deal with here in the near future is weening her. She LOVES to nurse! She will start bouncing up and down when she thinks she is going to get it (and she will pull my shirt up if she is close enought to me). I am still nursing her 4-5 times a day and I don't know how I am going to switch her to anything else.

Something big that happened in the past month.... She got 4 teeth within a 2 week period. Her teeth are SO cute! Her two top teeth have a big gap between them so it is funny when she smiles big. She is walking along everything and has taken about 2 steps on her own, we may have a walker soon. Her sleeping is pretty good but it has taken some adjusting on my part. She likes to go down about 6:30 or 7:00 and wake up at 6:00. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a morning person. It has taken some adjusting for me to try and be in bed by 10:00 (which doesn't always happen since that is the time to get stuff unpacked and done around the house) but I try. I usually have to take a nap when she does in the morning since after all, I am pregnant and need the extra sleep ;) I do think that she has adjusted well to the house over all and feels comfortable here now, I just wish she would learn how to go down the stairs so that we didn't have to chase her and catch her all the time.

We are still here!

We have moved into our house, but our internet isn't working so we are waiting for that to get situated. Unpacking has been slow with Brooklyn..... I unpack something and put it in place and Brooklyn grabs it and puts it on the ground, it is a circle process. I will post more when our internet is up and running. Brooklyn has turned 10 months old so I will have stuff to post for that.

Great Sleeping!

I decided to go out and buy Baby Wise on Saturday. Brooklyn has been waking up at 5:30 every morning and to be honest, I was getting really tired of getting up at that time. I bought the book and did a brief run through of the book. I noticed that I was pretty much doing everything that they suggest, I just needed a few tweeks. I made those tweeks and we have been sitting pretty. We have been putting her to bed sooner, and she is sleeping longer. Last night we put her down before 7:30 and she slept until 7:00!!! She would have slept longer but her dad wanted to love on her before he went to work. I think this new schedule will work great!! She has been going down on all of her naps on her own and to bed at night. We seriously don't hear a peep out of her when we put her down anymore....it is GREAT!!!! I hope this sticks and that she will do well when we make our move in the next week or so.
